Souq SafePay for Buyers
When buyers pay for purchases through Souq SafePay, They are protected as the Sellers will be paid only after the buyer receives his/her item and approves it.

Souq SafePay ensures sellers receive all their payments in a protected and secure environment.
 

How Souq SafePay works?
Souq SafePay, is simple to use and gives both buyers and seller the benefit of a protected service.
1. What buyer does: After the buyer is confirmed as the winning bidder on an item or makes their purchase through “Buy Now”, they can activate Souq SafePay using the link received in an email or through their “My Account” page on Souq.com.

2. What seller does: Seller then ships the item after payment verification and Souq verifies the shipment has been received by the buyer safely. Buyer accepts the item and within 48 hours Souq releases funds from the “MyWallet” of the buyer to the seller.
 

How can I pay for an item on Souq.com using Souq SafePay?
There are two ways to pay for an item on Souq.com and benefit from the Souq SafePay service:

Pay Safely Online with SafePay
The SafePay option provided by Souq.com, is the safest way to make all online electronic payments. Once you have bought or won (Auction) an item, simply transfer funds into your ‘MyWallet’ and pay for the item bought, by transferring the required funds into the sellers ‘MyWallet’. However, the funds will be available to the seller only after the items purchased, have safely reached you and you have given feedback to the seller or 7 days have passed.
 

How online payment works?
1. After a product is won/purchased, Souq will send a notification to the buyer with payment options along with a ‘Pay Online’ link.

2. Clicking on the ‘Pay Online’ link will bring the buyer to ‘MyWallet’ where the required funds can be added via cashU card or credit card.

3. Once the products are delivered by Souq and positive feedback is received, the funds added in seller’s ‘MyWallet’ will be available to him within 72 hrs. he payment will be reflected into the seller’s "MyWallet" and the seller can withdraw it to his bank account.

4. Souq will transfer funds into the seller’s respective bank account after seller clicks on the ‘Withdraw’ button.
 

Ship Safely with COD under SafePay
C.O.D is a service, in which the buyer immediately upon receiving the item pays for goods in cash. Aramex [Souq.com's shipping partner] will handle the delivery and payment through the following procedures.
Souq.com discourages buyers from paying for their item with instant cash services like "Cheque or Bank Transfer" because this offers no buyer protection and are not designed to be a payment vehicle when doing business with a stranger.

1. Sellers select COD as the shipping and payment method for their items.

2. Auction closes successfully and Souq.com notifies the buyer by an email that contains the COD link.

3. Buyer clicks on the COD confirmation link to initiate COD process.

4. Souq.com dispatches Aramex to pick up and deliver the item as well as collect funds from the buyer.

5. Funds come back to souq.com and are reflected in the seller's ‘MyWallet’.

6. Funds received shows as ‘pending’ in seller’s ‘MyWallet’ and Souq.com releases funds within 7 days after delivery or once a positive feedback is left on the transaction by the buyer.

7. Once the Funds are released the status in seller’s ‘MyWallet’ changes to released.

8. Then Seller can click on withdraw button to withdraw funds from ‘MyWallet’ into the seller’s bank account.

9. Souq.com then deposits the funds into his bank account.

- COD service is a domestic service that covers all of the U.A.E.
- A COD shipping fee of 14 AED must be paid either by the buyer or the seller. Souq SafePay offers FREE shipping for items up to 5 Kg on all orders paid for Online. However for every additional kilogram, 1 AED is added to the shipping cost. A Fee of AED 3 is charged as Souq SafePay Payment handling Fees to the seller.

Souq.com tracks the shipped merchandise and verifies it was delivered.
The Seller is not paid until the Buyer accepts the item and rates the seller through feedback, or the 7 day period expires.

How Sellers are protected?
Souq.com confirms when the Buyer receives item.
The Seller is authorized to ship only after souq.com verifies the payment.

If I buy directly from a seller will I be protected?
Unless payment is made through “MyWallet” or COD through Souq.com then the purchase does not benefit from the Souq SafePay protection.

If I pay for an item though Souq SafePay and pick it up myself will I still be protected?
Yes, as long as you pay for your item through Souq SafePay your purchase will be protected.
However, please remember you must report the item within 24 hours of your pick up date by leaving the seller feedback or contacting Souq.com Support.
